Objective of the Role
To support the hydrogeology team in field data collection for both open pit and underground operations, ensuring mining targets are met. The role contributes to data-driven decision-making and provides recommendations for daily operational improvements in hydrogeology.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct groundwater monitoring, including borehole measurements and sampling
- Support dewatering systems and water management infrastructure
- Collect, record, and analyze hydrogeological data
- Assist in maintaining pumping systems and water control measures
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of hydrogeology data
- Support compliance with environmental and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and environmental teams
- Capture and maintain records in hydrogeological databases or systems
- Prepare basic field reports, logs, and summaries
- Highlight abnormal trends or potential risks to the supervisor
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certification- Diploma in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Hydrology from a recognized institution
- Valid Tanzanian driving license
- 1–2 years’ experience in mining operations, particularly in hydrogeology or water management
- Experience in groundwater monitoring, sampling, or hydrogeological fieldwork
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Proficient in fieldwork techniques and hydrogeology tools
- Commitment to safety and environmental compliance
- Ability to work in challenging field and mining environments
