Objective of the Role​

To assist underground equipment reliability engineers in delivering targets through condition monitoring activities. The role ensures mobile and fixed equipment reliability by providing day-to-day monitoring of key components to guide maintenance strategic decision-making. The Technician will report directly to the Reliability Engineer.


Key Responsibilities​

  • Conduct detailed vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis
  • Perform routine and ad-hoc equipment condition assessments
  • Align monitoring activities with maintenance schedules
  • Support implementation of predictive maintenance (PdM) programs
  • Identify early signs of component wear and failure trends
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain high-integrity condition monitoring data
  • Recommend proactive maintenance actions to prevent equipment breakdowns
  • Prepare detailed condition monitoring reports with clear recommendations
  • Escalate critical issues affecting equipment reliability or safety
  • Conduct physical inspections and verify abnormal readings
  • Support maintenance teams during inspections and shutdowns
  • Conduct risk assessments before monitoring activities

Qualifications & Requirements​

Education & Certification
  • Diploma or FTC in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering (advantageous)
  • Certification in Vibration Analysis, Thermography, and Non-Destructive Testing (PT, MT & UT)
  • Certified Reliability Engineering courses and Condition Monitoring courses
  • Valid Tanzanian Driving License
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • 2–3 years’ experience in condition monitoring, maintenance, or reliability roles
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, reporting tools, maintenance systems)
  • Experience in mining, processing plants, or heavy industry
  • Ability to conduct field inspections and equipment condition checks
  • Understanding of maintenance workflows and planning processes
