Job Purpose
The Solar Commissioning Technician is responsible for the technical setup and commissioning of new service sites, ensuring all systems are fully operational, meet quality standards, and support expansion targets.Key Responsibilities
Site Commissioning
- Install and configure technical equipment at new sites
- Manage inventory and deployment of tools and equipment
- Ensure full connectivity at all commissioned locations
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair defective equipment
Technical Quality Assurance
- Maintain a rework rate of ≤5%
- Identify and report technical issues affecting quality
- Complete and submit commissioning quality checklists
Reporting and Systems Management
- Set up new sites in internal systems such as apps and dashboards
- Provide regular updates on commissioning progress
- Track key metrics including number of sites commissioned and rework rates
- Manage assigned tools and report equipment gaps
- Escalate technical issues when necessary
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Renewable Energy Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Basic knowledge of solar PV systems, installation, and commissioning
- Hands-on experience in renewable energy or electrical fieldwork
- Understanding of health and safety procedures
- Experience with lithium-ion batteries, diagnostics, and battery systems
- Ability to use technical tools, software, and installation equipment
- Strong communication and reporting skills
