Role Purpose​

The Mortgage Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and growing the consumer banking mortgage portfolio. This includes supervising Relationship Managers and Officers, driving sales, and ensuring high-quality client service. The role focuses on fostering strong client relationships, supporting strategic branch network goals, and ensuring compliance with banking standards.


Key Responsibilities​

1. Sales & Relationship Management

  • Drive mortgage sales for home purchase, construction, refinancing, and equity release.
  • Identify and acquire New-To-Bank (NTB) clients.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients and actively manage portfolios.
  • Assess client needs and provide tailored investment solutions.
  • Provide regular market updates to clients and adapt portfolios accordingly.
  • Promote cross-selling of third-party investment products, mutual funds, bonds, PMS, and structured products.
2. Client Service & Compliance

  • Ensure high-quality service through timely query, complaint, and correspondence management.
  • Maintain adherence to KYC standards, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, and internal controls.
  • Keep abreast of policies, procedures, technological advancements, and customer needs.
3. People Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop Relationship Managers and Officers.
  • Support team competence development and ensure effective teamwork.
4. Performance & Reporting

  • Achieve portfolio growth, deposit targets, and lending sales objectives.
  • Monitor portfolio quality (PAR/NPL ratios) and income growth targets (interest and non-interest income).

Qualifications & Experience​

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Experience:

  • 3–5 years in banking, with focus on mortgages or retail lending.
  • Proven experience in credit analysis, mortgage structuring, and portfolio management.
Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong sales, cross-selling, and upselling skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and client cash flows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of mortgage pricing and structuring.
  • Strong client relationship management and interpersonal skills.
