Role Summary
The Quality Controller is responsible for conducting laboratory analyses, interpreting results, and resolving quality issues in the production process. The role also includes facilitating problem-solving sessions, coaching teams, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Performing Analysis- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses as required
- Follow daily analysis schedules and complete assigned tasks
- Record results in systems such as Infinity or Excel
- Perform trend analysis to identify quality issues
- Review and interpret test results daily
- Communicate findings with production and laboratory teams
- Identify and escalate quality issues
- Prepare reports and present findings in meetings
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques to resolve issues
- Develop action plans and track corrective measures
- Engage specialists when needed
- Ensure issues are resolved and preventive measures are implemented
- Lead or support problem-solving sessions
- Use techniques such as FFA to identify root causes
- Assign responsibilities and track progress
- Ensure corrective actions are effective
- Identify training needs through audits and assessments
- Coach lab technicians and production teams on quality standards
- Support development of a strong quality culture
- Conduct quality audits (monthly, quarterly, or ad hoc)
- Collect relevant data from teams
- Prepare audit reports and share feedback with management
- Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
- Request external technical support when needed
- Ensure all equipment functions correctly
Qualifications and Experience
Education:- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Laboratory Science, or related field
- Diploma holders in related fields may also be considered
- Minimum of 2 years in a food processing or manufacturing environment
- Experience in a bottling or quality control environment is an added advantage
