This opportunity is best suited for highly experienced professionals in auditing or accounting with strong analytical and leadership capabilities. Candidates should demonstrate deep knowledge of risk management, compliance, and internal audit standards. To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Academic and professional qualifications in Auditing or Accounting (CPA, ACCA, or CIA required)
• Minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience in auditing, preferably in banking or microfinance institutions
• At least 5 years in a senior management role
• Strong knowledge of Global Internal Audit Standards
• Proven experience in financial management, control, planning, and administration

In this role, the Internal Auditor will be responsible for providing independent assurance on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and presenting the annual Audit Plan to Senior Management and the Board Audit and Risk Committee
• Evaluating risk exposure in relation to the organization’s strategic objectives
• Assessing the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information
• Reviewing systems to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, laws, and regulations
• Evaluating operational performance to ensure alignment with established goals and plans
• Preparing and issuing quarterly audit reports to the Board Audit and Risk Committee, including follow-up on management actions
