Job Purpose
The Construction Technician is responsible for identifying, assessing, leasing, renovating, and installing Jaza hubs or shops. The role ensures that each site meets company standards and becomes fully operational efficiently.Key Responsibilities
Site Assessment and Leasing
- Visit assigned locations and conduct site assessments
- Identify suitable service locations for Jaza hubs or shops
- Negotiate lease agreements within budget
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of lease agreements
- Build and maintain relationships with landlords and stakeholders
Renovation and Installation
- Identify required renovations for each site
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards
- Oversee installation of hub/shop assets and equipment
- Confirm all sites meet structural and safety requirements
Quality Assurance
- Maintain high standards throughout acquisition and installation
- Ensure rework rate is kept at or below 5%
- Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Complete and submit all quality assurance documentation
Reporting and Communication
- Provide updates to the Construction Engineer
- Present progress reports and insights during team meetings
- Track key metrics such as sites acquired, leased, and rework rates
- Escalate issues affecting timelines or quality
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Experience
- Background in property management, construction, or facilities management
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, or teams
Skills and Competencies
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of construction standards and quality control
- Excellent project management and multitasking abilities
- Analytical skills for evaluating renovation needs and budgets
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Willingness to travel frequently, including remote areas
