Organization Overview​

HIHEA TZ focuses on peri-urban and rural development, microfinance, and community empowerment. The Branch Manager is critical in ensuring efficient program delivery, operational management, and stakeholder engagement at the branch level.


Job Purpose​

The Branch Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and overall management of HIHEA TZ programs at the branch. This includes:

  • Leading program execution
  • Managing staff, resources, and operations
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and standard operating procedures

Key Duties & Responsibilities​

1. Program Implementation​

  • Support strategic and business plan implementation at the branch level
  • Lead operational planning, work plans, and activity reviews
  • Prepare and monitor branch budgets
  • Manage financial and material resources prudently
  • Ensure quality delivery of programs and services
  • Oversee marketing, sales, and promotional activities
  • Identify member needs and advise Head Office

2. Compliance & Reporting​

  • Maintain quality standards and compliance with policies
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing systems
  • Submit periodic performance and financial reports
  • Track program activities and expenditures
  • Share lessons learned and best practices

3. Monitoring & Evaluation​

  • Support monitoring and evaluation of programs/projects
  • Track progress and results against objectives
  • Adopt and implement recommendations from M&E findings

4. Stakeholders & Partnerships​

  • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and local stakeholders
  • Maintain strong professional relationships in the branch area
  • Coordinate field visits and ensure successful engagement
  • Represent HIHEA TZ in relevant forums
  • Promote visibility and public relations for the branch

5. Human Resource & Administration​

  • Provide leadership and foster teamwork at the branch
  • Supervise staff including recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and appraisals
  • Motivate and retain staff; build a talent pipeline
  • Manage branch logistics, assets, and procurement
  • Ensure workplace safety, security, and proper asset utilization
  • Maintain custody of branch contracts and security documents
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Supervisor

Education, Skills & Competencies​

Education​

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cooperative, Microfinance, Marketing, Business Management, Administration, or Commerce
  • Understanding of peri-urban and rural development and financing

Skills & Abilities​

  • Leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with initiative and consistent performance
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting and MS Office applications
  • Integrity and attention to detail in handling assets and cash transactions
  • Analytical skills and report-writing capabilities
  • Effective oral and written communication in English and Kiswahili
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Commitment to HIHEA TZ mission and service

Work Experience​

  • Minimum 3 years in a similar position
