ARTISAN II (PLUMBER) – 2 Positions​

Iringa Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (IRUWASA) is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill two (2) positions for the post of Artisan II (Plumber). The application period runs from 22 March 2026 to 04 April 2026.

The successful candidates will be responsible for plumbing maintenance, water supply repairs, and sewerage system management. The duties and responsibilities include:

• Repairing all water leakages as detected
• Installing customers' water meters
• Participating in the rehabilitation of water supply structures
• Monitoring and reporting unauthorized water connections
• Reporting water losses and distribution faults, and taking immediate corrective measures
• Carrying out water disconnections for debtors and reconnections after payment
• Maintaining proper records of water connections, disconnections, and reconnections
• Preparing appropriate tools and materials required for repairs or new connections
• Ensuring proper alignment of all pipe installations, repairs, and maintenance
• Repairing all water pipe bursts effectively
• Identifying manholes to be repaired
• Ensuring steps (crampons) in manholes are well secured to prevent slipping
• Fixing crampons inside manholes
• Strictly implementing operating instructions for sewerage machines and equipment
• Assisting in collecting customer sewerage data and information
• Reporting sewerage pipe faults to responsible officers
• Preparing and updating a list of all customers receiving sewer services
• Assisting in monitoring sewerage connections and recommending rectification measures
• Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the respective Supervisor

Applicants must meet the required qualifications to be considered for the position. Specifically, candidates should possess:

• Form IV Certificate
• Trade Test Grade II/Level II/NVA/VC II/NTA Level 4 or 5 in Plumbing or Plumbing and Pipe Fitting from recognized institutions

The position offers a salary under the IWAS 2 scale, in accordance with the authority’s salary structure.
