OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FUND LOAN OPPORTUNITY
The Youth Development Fund has been established with the aim of economically empowering youth by providing them with capital to start or expand various production activities, businesses, and service delivery. Through this program, the Government aims to increase employment among youth, promote entrepreneurship, and stimulate national economic growth.
The President’s Office – Youth Development (PO–YD) is pleased to inform all youth across the country that the loan application window under the TZS 200 billion program—an initiative promised by Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, for youth, women, and people with special needs—has officially been opened. All youth with projects or project ideas are invited to apply.
Loan Applicant Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
i. Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged between 18 and 35 years;
ii. Must have a copy of a National ID (NIDA) or a NIDA number;
iii. Must operate in a location recognized by authorities for business activities (e.g., a market);
iv. Must be a resident of the respective area and have an introduction letter from Local Government/Village authorities;
v. Must be an individual, a startup company, or a registered social group;
vi. Must have a project/business proposal for which the loan is being requested; and
vii. Must have a bank account or a registered mobile number in the applicant’s name.
How to Apply for the Loan
Applicants are required to submit a loan application letter indicating the following:
i. Name of the group or applicant;
ii. Type of proposed project;
iii. Amount of loan requested; and
iv. Location where the project will be implemented.
Required Supporting Documents
Applicants must attach the following documents:
i. Project proposal not exceeding five (5) pages;
ii. National ID or NIDA number / Voter ID;
iii. Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN);
iv. Business license (for existing businesses);
v. Letter confirming business location from the Local Government/Village Chairperson;
vi. Two passport-size photos taken within the last three months; and
vii. Meeting minutes signed by group members (for group applicants), showing the loan application agenda.
