Job Purpose
The Seed Technician will operate machinery and support seed processing activities including cleaning, grading, treatment, and packaging. The role ensures compliance with safety standards and Bayer’s best practices while maintaining high product quality.Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation and Safety
- Operate seed processing equipment and forklifts safely and efficiently
- Follow all safety regulations to prevent accidents and damage
Production and Process Management
- Execute daily and weekly production plans
- Organize materials and consumables on the production floor
- Monitor seed processing from intake to final product
Maintenance and Quality Control
- Perform routine maintenance in collaboration with supervisors
- Conduct in-process quality checks such as defects testing, weights, stitching, and labeling
- Ensure defective products are corrected or reprocessed
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate production and shift records
- Prepare shift processing reports
- Support inventory control and product costing
Compliance and ESH Standards
- Follow Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) policies
- Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement programs
- Maintain compliance with quality management systems
Qualifications and Skills Required
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Production Management
- Agricultural Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
Experience
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in plant operations
Key Skills
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Forklift operation experience
- Computer literacy
