RESEARCH ASSISTANT (MEDICINE) – 2 Positions
Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC) is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill two (2) positions for the post of Research Assistant (Medicine). The application period runs from 22 March 2026 to 04 April 2026.
The successful candidates will assist in research activities, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings in the field of medicine and nutrition. The duties and responsibilities include:
- Assisting in field data collection, computer data entry, and analysis, as well as gathering relevant literature under the supervision of Senior Researchers
- Assisting in disseminating food and nutrition information through publications, mass media, interpersonal communication, educational programs, public service announcements, printed materials, and online resources
- Preparing and submitting technical reports to the respective supervisor
- Preparing and submitting draft manuscripts, books, technical reports, training materials, guidelines, and protocols for review by the respective supervisor
- Assisting in drafting guidelines, data collection tools, and research protocols
- Presenting research findings at local seminars and workshops
- Conducting literature searches and preparing research materials for manuscripts, books, technical reports, training materials, guidelines, and protocols for publication
- Training and supervising other Junior Researchers
- Assisting in preparing research progress reports according to work plans
- Assisting in planning specific research projects
- Assisting in preparing fundable research proposals and consultancy documents
- Performing any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine
- Minimum of upper second class, or an overall minimum B+ for classified degrees (e.g., Doctor of Medicine) from a recognized institution
