Watumishi Housing Investments (WHI) is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill one (1) position for the post of Quantity Surveyor II. The application period runs from 22 March 2026 to 04 April 2026.

The successful candidate will assist in cost management, project evaluation, and technical support for building projects. The duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Senior Quantity Surveyors in collecting data for feasibility studies
  • Preparing preliminary cost estimates, schedules of works, and draft bills of quantities for building projects
  • Understanding and applying current legislation, policies, acts, regulations, codes, and manuals relevant to building project design work
  • Undertaking work valuations at different stages of project implementation, from site to completion
  • Compiling and reviewing bills of quantities and cost estimates from other disciplines to produce complete draft bidding documents
  • Preparing draft project work programs, schedules, and budgets
  • Carrying out physical site data collection in technical audits related to building projects
  • Participating under guidance in conditional surveys for existing structures and preparing financial reports
  • Searching and collecting building cost control data for use in preparation of bills of quantities
  • Participating in the review of drawings, reports, and documents for cost control to ensure standards and specifications are adhered to
  • Preparing financial and project appraisal reports for building projects
  • Undertaking project and contract management tasks
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned by superiors from time to time
Applicants must meet the required qualifications to be considered for the position. Specifically, candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Economics, Building Survey, Construction Management, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution
  • Registration with AQRB or be a graduate Quantity Surveyor
The position offers a salary under the WHIS 4 scale, in accordance with the organization’s salary structure.
