LABORATORY ASSISTANT II – 17 Positions​

Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill seventeen (17) positions for the post of Laboratory Assistant II. The application period runs from 22 March 2026 to 04 April 2026.

The successful candidates will assist in laboratory operations and ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper handling of materials and equipment. The duties and responsibilities include:

• Preparing simple reagents
• Cleaning laboratory apparatus
• Maintaining general cleanliness of floors, windows, tables, sinks, and coats
• Dusting bookshelves and cleaning simple apparatus, equipment, and machinery
• Making requests for cleaning materials
• Assisting in preparing samples for testing as instructed
• Implementing routine safety measures in the laboratory
• Performing any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Applicants must meet the required qualifications to be considered for the position. Specifically, candidates should possess:

• A Form IV Certificate
• A Certificate, Trade Test Grade I or II, or NVA Level II or III in Laboratory Science and Technology or Laboratory Assistant from a recognized institution

The position offers a salary under the TBSS 2 scale, in accordance with the organization’s salary structure.
