Job Purpose
The Laboratory Analyst is responsible for accurate chemical analysis, ensuring reliable operation of laboratory equipment, and maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards.Key Responsibilities
- Analyze boiler water, water treatment, and water tower samples according to laboratory procedures
- Use appropriate reagents/chemicals and report expired items to the Laboratory Technician
- Monitor KPIs and report out-of-range values or non-conformance
- Maintain good housekeeping in the laboratory and ensure safe working conditions
- Inspect and report any damage to laboratory instruments
- Take care of personal and team health and safety, reporting any incidents immediately
- Ensure environmentally conscious laboratory practices to prevent pollution
- Perform proper handover at the end of each shift
Minimum Requirements
- Form Six (Science) or equivalent Laboratory Assistant Certificate
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role
- Experience in sugar laboratory procedures is an advantage
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Attention to detail and ability to interpret analysis results
- Knowledge and skills to check laboratory instrument performance
