Habitat for Humanity Tanzania is offering an exciting opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain practical experience in NGO finance and operations. This Finance & Operations Internship in Dar es Salaam provides a hands-on introduction to financial management, compliance, and operational systems within a dynamic nonprofit environment. The internship lasts 3–6 months with the possibility of extension and starts immediately.
As a Finance & Operations Intern, you will work closely with Habitat’s Finance & Operations team to ensure efficiency, transparency, and accountability across projects. This role is designed to develop your skills in NGO finance, donor reporting, and organizational governance while actively contributing to meaningful community programs.

- Assisting in the preparation and review of financial reports, budgets, and compliance matrices
- Supporting procurement processes, vendor due diligence, and asset verification
- Contributing to operational documentation, including templates and structured reporting frameworks
- Helping streamline data management using Excel and other tools
- Participating in audits and donor reporting activities
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic financial tools
- Interest in nonprofit finance, compliance, and governance
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Practical exposure to NGO financial and operational systems
