Direct Sales Agent – Dodoma / Arusha / Kilimanjaro
Mwanga Hakika Bank Limited is recruiting Direct Sales Agents to drive growth in retail, SME, and agent banking across Dodoma, Arusha, and Kilimanjaro regions.Purpose of the Role
The Direct Sales Agent will actively onboard new customers, open bank accounts, and recruit and support Bank Agents (Wakala), ensuring compliance with Bank of Tanzania (BOT) regulations and Mwanga Hakika Bank policies.Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Account Onboarding
- Source and onboard retail, SME, and micro-business customers.
- Educate customers on bank products (savings, loans, digital banking, cards).
- Collect and verify KYC documents, ensuring compliance with AML/CFT regulations.
- Complete account opening and digital onboarding processes.
- Follow up to activate accounts and onboard customers to digital channels.
- Manage your portfolio of onboarded customers.
2. Wakala (Bank Agent) Onboarding
- Recruit eligible individuals as Bank Agents.
- Conduct due diligence and documentation for agents.
- Train agents on products, compliance, and transaction management.
- Support agents in activation, branding, and initial transactions.
- Monitor performance and escalate operational or compliance issues.
3. Merchant Onboarding
- Recruit eligible merchants for MHB Lipa Chap platform.
- Conduct due diligence and ensure compliance documentation.
- Train merchants on digital payments and banking products.
- Support activation, branding, and initial transactions.
- Monitor performance and escalate issues when required.
4. Sales & Market Development
- Conduct field visits, activations, and community engagement.
- Achieve sales and onboarding targets for accounts and agents.
- Identify market opportunities and provide competitor/customer feedback.
- Build strong relationships with customers, agents, local leaders, and communities.
5. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all onboarding complies with BOT regulations and AML/CFT guidelines.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales and onboarding reports.
- Maintain accurate records of customers and agents.
- Escalate suspicious activities per compliance procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Banking, Finance, or related field
- Prior experience in sales, microfinance, banking, mobile money, or agent banking is advantageous
- Experience in field sales or community-based marketing preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Understanding of banking products and agent banking
- Knowledge of KYC and AML requirements
- Excellent communication skills in Swahili and basic English
- Ability to work independently in the field
- High integrity and professionalism
- Basic smartphone and digital literacy
